American fashion and lifestyle brand Kate Spade is taking inspiration from New York City’s magical skyline at night with a joyful amber-floral scent for her called “Sparkle”.

“I wanted to create a fragrance that recalls the magic of the lights in New York and how the city seems to sparkle in the night,” says perfumer, Louise Turner. “I remember being in the city years ago, as the sun was going down, sipping a delicious blackcurrant cosmopolitan, a gigantic bouquet of peonies placed on the table and smelling the lingering scent of a vanilla crème brûlée that had been delivered to a nearby table – all the scents came together in such an impactful and memorable way.”

The new fragrance opens with a blackcurrant note, underlined by Italian lemon for added freshness and a dash of spicy frosted pink peppercorn. At the heart, an exuberant bouquet of purple peonies and hawthorns unfolds, and finally, vibrant cedar and oakwood extracts create a seductive trail, made deliciously addictive thanks to an added vanilla crème brûlée note.

You’ll notice the iconic Kate Spade New York Eau de Parfum bottle is dressed up for evening. The bottle is adorned with a night blue gradient radiating from top to bottom, reminiscent of dusk in the city as the light starts to change, making way for the magic of the night ahead. The gold cap features a dark blue enamel ring set with three gold signature spades, like shimmering lights across the New York City’s skyline. The embossed spade flower pattern on the outer packaging is reinterpreted in a purple, navy gradient with the name of the fragrance etched onto a white label—a subtle nod to the brand’s heritage, where a simple and sophisticated label was affixed to the exterior of the first handbag designs.

Actress and dancer Maddie Ziegler returns for a second campaign, looking radiant in front of a New York City sunset, ready to dance in the twinkling night and spreading a trail of magic wherever she goes. With night about to fall on the iconic city skyline, Ziegler appears in a flowing spade flower print dress, reminiscent of the bottle design, bringing a dusting of sparkles across the campaign visual.

    Kate Spades fragrance Sparkle sounds so pretty. Notes of Vanilla Crème Brûlée sound’s very decadent. I’m always surprised by the different combinations of fragrance notes. The iconic spade symbol on the cap is highlighted by a gorgeous bottle. The packaging is gorgeous. Now that we all know to store our fragrances in the original box I think it’s important to have packaging that stands out.
