We love spending time with Scent Lodge’s talented and passionate fragrance expert Melanie Caplan. Nobody can describe a scent like her. Her enthusiasm and knowledge are infectious. We luckily had the opportunity to spend some time with her this month and asked her to share with us her favourite Versace fragrance and why. Her response is surprising.

“Crystal Noir is red carpet-worthy and sensual…with a youthful appeal,” she says. “It makes me feel feminine, confident and alluring. I always receive compliments when I wear this Versace fragrance.” This sensual and delicate scent for her is built around a creamy, luminous gardenia note. Perfumer Antoine Lie perfectly balances the floral note with rich black fig, sensual amber and musk ingredients creating a dark and mysterious character that is ideal for evening.

“I’m a sucker for fig,” she continues. “And Donatella likes to use fig as in the hot summer days Italians sit under the shade of fig trees to enjoy a meal together. The smell of fig reminds her of time spent with family and friends.”
