What is your signature scent number? And what does it say about the fragrance notes that best suit you? Read on and you’ll find your personal number and secrets of scent numerology.
The ancient art of numerology is based on the concept that the numerical value of your name influences areas of your personal and professional life.Think of numerology as the study of numbers in your life. It’s often described as the universal language of numbers. It is a little bit like astrology but uses a different method to get the information and insight: through numbers.
There are early recordings of numerology in Egypt and Babylon. Later, it was practiced in Rome, China, Greece and Japan. Pythagoras and other philosophers believed that because mathematical concepts were more “practical” and easier to classify than physical ones, they had greater actuality. (He discovered the numerical relationship between numbers and musical notes) Numerology remains hugely popular in China to this day. Certain numbers and number combinations are considered luckier than other. In general, even numbers are considered lucky. It is believed good luck comes in pairs.
Chinese “lucky number” combinations
99 – twice as long in time, hence eternal
168 – considered very lucky
888 – three times prosperity – wealthy, wealthy, wealthy
Numerology was a topic taught in “Arithmancy” class in the Harry Potter books. It was a practice of assigning numerical value to words in order to predict the future.
The first step in exploring Scent Numerology is to find your personal name number. Here is how:
How to calculate your personal name number in numerology.
Write out the alphabet from ‘A’ to ‘Z’ horizontally on a sheet of paper (all 26 letters). Each letter is going to be assigned a different numerical value.
Assign each letter a digit from one to nine. Begin with the letter “A”. Write a ‘1’ next to it. Once you get to number 9, start at 1 again. Here is a cheat sheet to numerical values:
1 – A, J, S
2 – B, K, T
3 – C, L, U
4 – D, M, V
5 – E, N, W
6 – F, O, X
7 – G, P, Y
8 – H, Q, Z
9 – I, R
Write out your full name including your middle name. (If you have legally changed your name, use that name since it is how you identify yourself.
Match each letter in your name to its corresponding number. Write the numbers under each letter in your name.
Add together all of the letter’s numbers in your complete name. You will end up with a two-digit sum after adding everything together.
Take the sum of your name’s number and add the two digits together to get one single digit. For example, if your name’s number totals 25, you would add 2 + 5 to get “7”. The seven is your true name number. This is also referred to in numerology as your “expression” number.
