The Ultimate Fragrance Reference Guide
In 1984, fragrance authority Michael Edwards published the first edition of his Fragrances of the World guide book. Not only did he list and describe all of the year’s perfume launches, but he classified the world’s most popular iconic scents into classifications and categories. What was unique about this book is Edwards created a fragrance wheel that made it easy for consumers to understand the character and personality of each scent. It was an immediate success and soon Michael was updating it each year adding more and more fragrances. Consumers loved that he indexed the perfumes by name, house, gender and fragrance family.
Published in both English and French, Fragrances of the World is currently in its 33rd edition and is recognized as perfumery’s most comprehensive and accurate classification reference. Dubbed the ‘perfume experts’ expert’, Edwards is the industry’s only impartial and independent authority. He makes no charge for listing of classifying new fragrances. He declines both advertising and sponsorship.
“A great perfume is a work of art. It can lift our days, haunt our nights and create milestones of our memories. Perfume is liquid emotions,” he says.
Fragrances of the World is available at fragrancesoftheworld.com. The book retails for $175 USD.
